LMFF at Collins 234 (2011)
I usually associate Collins 234 with the Dymocks Bookstore but they host a number of designers, including Labelladonna, Hannii, Saba and Lisa Barron as proven by their kitsch little runway in conjunction with LMFF. Models paraded through a lovely gold and flower gilded doorway while dancing to waltzy 1920′s music. Have a look:-
I’m definitely in the mood for colorful winter stockings.
LMFF at Melbourne’s GPO (2011)
Melbourne’s GPO presented a runway of pret-a-porter Winter collections including the likes of Hussy, Arthur Galan, Veronika Maine and Baccini&Hill. I loved the space with its tall arches and copious amount of natural light. I caught sight of lovely Courtenay B who was walking in the show, looking amazing as usual. Have a look:-

My new-est addition to the family
LMFF Alex Perry Red Carpet (2011)
I scored a gig to the Alex Perry Red Carpet runway due to a last minute pull out and it was loads of fun notwithstanding the near 1 hour delay. Arriving early I took myself to the rise where I admired the hall we were in (coincidentally the same place all my exams are held) and where I could listen in on all the seasoned professional shooters having a chat and dropping lots of great stuff regarding European runways.
People watching is always a great past time especially here where everyone is fashionably fabulous.
The show began with absolutely bright lights that left me seeing spots for a fair few minutes.
Here’s a look at some of the top looks:-
Alex Perry gave a definite nod to Latina influences with lots of Mauritian and Caribbean colors which are so beautiful and fresh. In addition the glimpse of cream lining the full skirts were especially striking. The designer also explained he was working with new shapes that were different from the usual slinky, strapped evening-wear, another flair I was loving as it reminded me of Oriental Korean garment shapes, very elegant and discreet yet sexy by the high slit. The show was opened and closed by the very delicious Megan Gale who showed us how it was like to be a top model. Here she is taking the final walk with Alex in a bold virulent red number:-
In closing, a standing ovation:-
