It’s rare for me to cook at home especially when there’s an abundance of relatively cheap take outs in the Melbourne CBD. However sustaining oneself on take out doesn’t taste particularly healthy and after awhile everything feels the same. Lately we’ve decided to try new recipes from a Malaysian cookbook and the results have been rather stellar.
Ayam Masak Merah
Ayam masak merah loosely translates to red cooked chicken. It has onions, garlic, ginger, lemon grass, red chilies, and tomato over fried chicken, served with baby corn and snow peas with rice and has the right amount of tang to set you salivating for more.
Sara Lee’s Mini Baked Cheesecake
Dessert was a store bought box of mini delights in the form of tiny cheesecakes. Also available were chocolate and cookies and cream flavors but we were pretty happy with conventional vanilla.
I’m in the process of planning more shoots while recuperating, so good food is pretty important. Helps that I also like taking photos of food 😉
